The site is suitable for people with a range of access requirements.

  • No shade - bring a hat, sunscreen and rain jacket

  • Water refill stations located close by

  • First Aid available

  • No seating provided - bring rug, blankets or a low folding chair if required

  • Recharge point for mobility aids

  • Dedicated entry point to the event site

  • Onsite First Aid/Medical team

  • Guest assistance.

Site entry

  • Site opens at 12pm and closes at 12.45am

  • Accessible Entry Point, corner of Merriman and Bettington Street

  • Viewing area is located on Walumil Lawn 3.

Lift information

For the remainder of the Cutaway fit-out works, access to the lift at ground level (the Cutaway entrance) is unavailable for public safety. Alternative accessible routes are available. Please note the lift will not operate from midnight on 30 December to 6am on 1 January 2025, due to New Year's Eve event management.

Getting here

Public transport is the best way to get around on New Year’s Eve.

Wynyard station is about a 20 minute walk away via Wulugul Walk.  

Driving is not recommended.
