Leave nothing to waste
The City of Sydney is certified carbon neutral for its operations under the Climate Active offset standard. We’re committed to reducing carbon emissions from our operations and events. Leading industry best practice, we reduce the volume of waste sent to landfill. Waste is a big contributor to climate change and in 2024 contributed to 13% of greenhouse gas emissions from our area.
We work with partners and suppliers who share a commitment to achieving leading environmental performance for a sustainable future. You’re also encouraged to jump on board and help make Sydney New Year’s Eve more sustainable to keep our city sparkling and leave nothing to waste.
