Pirrama Park designated accessible viewing area

Pirrama Park in Pyrmont is a family-friendly site with level terrain and great views of the fireworks from the western side of the Harbour Bridge.

Pirrama Park is fully accessible and can accommodate up to 7,000 people, and includes a designated accessible viewing area located on the wharf area for those with accessible needs, their family and friends. 

The designated accessible viewing area can accommodate up to 90 people.  You will need a wristband to book this area.

Site entry

  • The gate opens at 2pm.

  • Enter at Pirrama Road.

  • The wharf viewing area is 350 metres from the general entry point at Pirrama Park and around 360m from the drop off point near the wharf (Pirrama Road closes to vehicles at 5pm).

Getting here

Public transport is the best way to get around on New Year’s Eve.

The Star light rail station is 700 metres from the Pirrama Road gate. Pirrama Road will be closed from 7pm until 4am.

Jones Bay Wharf car park is 400 metres from the site. It will be open until 7pm (or when full). Cars may not be allowed to leave until 1am when pedestrians have cleared.

Alternative car parks are on Edward Street and Murray Street in Pyrmont, both around one kilometre from the site.

The Star only allows members to access its car park.
