Transport

Getting here

  • Access to the Bradfield Park vantage point is on foot via Alfred Street. Follow the directions of NSW Police and staff onsite.
  • No parking available and roads will be closed. Public transport is the best way to get around on New Year’s Eve, with thousands of extra services running.
  • The closest stations are Milsons Point and North Sydney train stations, and Victoria Cross metro station. Plenty of extra trains and metro services will be operating. Note after 6pm, trains from the city will not stop at Milsons Point, alight at North Sydney and continue on foot to Bradfield Park.
  • Buses will be using different stops and routes due to road closures. Buses that usually run to Milsons Point will start and end trips in North Sydney CBD from 3pm. Continue on foot down to the foreshore.
  • Milsons Point ferry wharf will close from 2pm with very limited services operating after the midnight fireworks.
  • Roads around Milsons Point will begin closing from 7pm on 30 December with major road closures from 5pm on New Year’s Eve. Leave the car at home. See road closure information.

Leaving the event

  • Pedestrian diversions will be in place on New Year’s Eve. The way you leave may be different to how you arrived. Be prepared for a longer walk to transport hubs.
  • The closest stations are Milsons Point and North Sydney train stations, and Victoria Cross metro station. Plenty of extra trains and metro services will be operating.
  • Milsons Point station will have crowd control measures in place after the fireworks. Be patient and follow the directions of NSW Police and staff onsite.
  • Buses towards the Northern Beaches leave from Berry Street. Buses towards the North Shore and Hills district leave from Miller Street near McLaren Street.
  • Limited ferries run after the midnight fireworks, services will be busy so have a backup plan.
